AVP, Data Solutions Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop operational data pipelines and provide thoroughly documented datasets that account for data integrations.

• Comprehend the needs of business partners and create data engineering solutions.

• Deliver well-structured data solutions in collaboration with data platform engineering, data governance, data science, and data analytics/visualization colleagues.

• Collaborate with business teams to design effective data solutions.

• Guide and mentor junior data engineers.

• Lead the development and implementation of data pipelines.

• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and governance of data pipelines.

• Report directly to the VP of Data Solutions Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.

• Strong comprehension of ETL/ELT processes, APIs, Cloud technologies, and data operations.

• At least seven years of experience in an advancing data engineering position.

• A minimum of five years of programming experience with Python and SQL.

• Comprehensive knowledge of data lakes, data governance practices, and contemporary data quality techniques.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual abilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with Actuarial, Investment, and Finance domains within the Insurance/Reinsurance sector is advantageous.
