This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Drive the strategic direction of the company and oversee actuarial expertise across CareSource’s actuarial operations.

• Supervise pricing, forecasting, month-end closing activities, performance monitoring, and explanation of results.

• Enhance profitability through the application of actuarial knowledge and tools.

• Manage actuarial functions and ensure their alignment and effectiveness in meeting business requirements.

• Lead enhancements and modifications to models, reports, and processes.

• Foster ongoing improvement of actuarial methodologies.

• Represent Actuarial Services and CareSource in communications, presentations, and meetings with regulators, stakeholders, and external entities.

• Align Actuarial Services with Finance to bolster business intelligence and comprehension of the company's financials.

• Provide actuarial insights for monthly financial reporting, including claim reserves/accruals, variance analysis, and executive leadership reports.

• Establish and uphold actuarial processes and controls to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and transitions.

• Carry out additional job-related duties as requested.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, or a related discipline is required.

• A minimum of five years of experience in a healthcare actuarial role, encompassing Medicaid, Commercial, and/or Medicare Advantage sectors.

• At least ten years of experience in the Actuarial Industry and five years in a management role are preferred.

• Familiarity with rate negotiations, process/model/report design, state and federal reporting requirements, as well as traditional actuarial functions.

• Preferred experience in managed care and state/federal government programs.

• Experience engaging with state or federal regulators, CMS, or external regulatory/auditing organizations is preferred.

• Proven experience in communicating and presenting to senior internal leaders.

• Exceptional strategic planning and process design capabilities.

• Proficient in advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.

• Capacity to articulate and defend complex concepts and strategies to non-technical audiences.

• Ability to influence stakeholders and make data-driven decisions.

• Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong leadership and team-building abilities, with a history of recruiting and developing high-performing teams.

• Demonstrated achievement and integrity.

• Solid understanding of business processes, operations, and competencies of business partners.

• Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) and designation as Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (ASA or FSA) is required.

• Maintenance of memberships in the Society of Actuaries and the American Academy of Actuaries is mandatory.

• Travel may be required up to 20% of the time.
