📋 Description

• Conduct analyses related to client projects.

• Prepare and review data for analysis.

• Verify data for errors, consistency, and precision.

• Gather, reconcile, manipulate, and analyze data utilizing R, SQL, and other programming languages.

• Comprehend, modify, and operate intricate spreadsheets and database tools.

• Create and implement actuarial models.

• Compose written reports, exhibits, and both internal and external correspondence.

• Present findings to colleagues, project managers, and client relationship managers.

• Maintain thorough documentation.

• Review personal and colleagues’ work for accuracy.

• Engage in research projects.

• Execute additional tasks as assigned by Actuaries and Principals.

• Assume direct responsibility for client work while enhancing skills through collaborative projects across the practice.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must have a completed bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, data science, statistics, or another quantitative field at the time of application.

• Must have passed two or more actuarial exams at the time of application.

• Possess between one and four years of professional actuarial experience, including internships.

• Preferably have experience in supporting commercial lines pricing and product development, including rate indications, rating plan development, LCM estimation, experience rating studies, competitor filing reviews, or similar pricing initiatives.

• Familiarity with ISO loss costs, rating plans, ILFs, size-of-risk curves, and other concepts related to commercial lines pricing.

• Strong preference for familiarity with regulatory rate filing processes.

• Demonstrate strong technical proficiency in Excel.

• Experience in managing data and automating complex data manipulation tasks in R, SQL, SAS, or other programming languages; R is preferred.

• Available to commence work within 2–4 weeks following acceptance of an offer.

• Quick to learn and proactive in addressing problems.

• Capable of adapting priorities, accepting new tasks, and managing multiple concurrent projects.

• Possess big-picture thinking to anticipate client requirements.

• Exceptional attention to detail and technical accuracy.

• Self-reliant and motivated to work autonomously.

• Demonstrate enthusiasm for actuarial consulting and a strong work ethic.

• Collaborative and eager to assist as needed.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• Previous experience in P&C reserving is a plus.

• Proven programming ability in SAS, R, Python, and/or SQL is advantageous.

• Experience or strong interest in predictive modeling is welcome.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future immigration support or sponsorship.
