This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
• Lead and oversee aviation planning teams to successfully execute airport planning projects.
• Act as the project manager and technical leader for airport master plans, aviation system plans, airport layout plans, airfield development studies, and capital improvement programs.
• Direct the planning processes for runways, taxiways, aprons, safety areas, terminal development, and supporting airport facilities.
• Supervise analyses of airfield geometry, aircraft accommodation studies, capacity evaluations, operational assessments, and compliance reviews with FAA design standards.
• Manage the scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, quality assurance, and communications with clients.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including planners, engineers, environmental specialists, GIS professionals, and subconsultants.
• Create and review technical reports, planning documents, presentations, exhibits, and materials for FAA coordination.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement through workshops, public meetings, advisory committees, and coordination with agencies.
• Mentor and develop junior aviation planners and support staff members.
• Contribute to business development, proposal preparation, client relationship management, strategic planning initiatives, and pursuit efforts.
• Keep abreast of aviation trends, FAA policy updates, airport funding opportunities, and industry best practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, Airport Management, or a related technical field.
• Over 8 years of pertinent aviation planning experience, specifically in commercial airport planning and airfield development projects.
• More than 5 years of project management, task management, or supervisory experience leading aviation planning teams.
• Proven experience in preparing and managing FAA-funded airport planning projects, including airport master plans, ALPs, and airfield development studies.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be taken into account.
• AICP certification or the ability to obtain certification is preferred.
• Accreditation as an Airport Executive (AAE), CM, or other aviation industry credentials is preferred.
• Experience with commercial service airport master plans, ALPs, environmental planning studies, and airfield development programs is preferred.
• Established connections with FAA personnel, airport sponsors, and aviation industry stakeholders are preferred.
• A successful track record in business development, client growth, and proposal pursuits is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, AviPLAN, AeroTURN, FAA-approved planning tools, ArcGIS/QGIS, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, project management software, FAA Airport GIS, and airport planning databases.
