This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.
• Provide both remote and on-site technical assistance for software applications, automation systems, and diagnostic devices deployed at customer sites and within the company's laboratory.
• Install, configure, test, and commission software solutions, automation platforms, and diagnostic systems in accordance with established technical specifications and customer needs.
• Conduct integration tasks between diagnostic instruments and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), ensuring accurate data exchange and system operation.
• Assist in instrument validation, qualification, acceptance testing, and go-live procedures for software and automation solutions.
• Provide customer training on software applications, automation workflows, and system functionality.
• Assess customer requirements and identify potential for software upgrades, workflow enhancements, automation improvements, and system advancements.
• Work in collaboration with Technical Support, Automation Management, IT Management, and external manufacturers to investigate and resolve software, connectivity, and automation-related challenges.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison with manufacturers’ software support organizations for the escalation and resolution of intricate technical challenges.
• Ensure thorough documentation and traceability of software versions, configurations, updates, and customer interactions.
• Support practices related to data integrity, cybersecurity, backup, and access control associated with software and connected diagnostic systems.
• Keep technical expertise up to date through ongoing training on new products, software updates, automation technologies, and connectivity standards.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related scientific field.
• Previous experience in technical support, laboratory software, medical devices, diagnostic instrumentation, automation systems, or IT environments.
• Familiarity with laboratory workflows and diagnostic systems is considered advantageous.
• Proficient knowledge of software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Understanding of diagnostic instrumentation and laboratory automation systems.
• Comprehension of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), instrument interfacing, and data communication protocols.
• Basic understanding of computer networks, operating systems, databases, and cybersecurity principles.
• Capability to analyze and resolve software, system integration, and connectivity issues.
• Awareness of quality and regulatory standards relevant to medical devices and IVD environments.
• Ability to prepare and sustain technical documentation and service records.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and common software support tools.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
