This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Evaluate, estimate, negotiate, and assess both first- and third-party auto physical damage claims.
• Ensure a consistent quality of service throughout the entire claim life cycle.
• Efficiently manage assignments and travel to vehicle or equipment locations as needed.
• Assess claims and determine physical claim values utilizing company resources, estimation, and evaluation software.
• Create and document appraisals for vehicle and equipment damage, including Actual Cash Values and Replacement Values.
• Collaborate with designated Claim Professionals from the initial investigation through to final recovery.
• Negotiate claim values and necessary payments with customers and repair facilities.
• Establish settlement amounts for applicable total-loss claims.
• Negotiate and communicate claim settlements within authorized limits and initiate payments accordingly.
• Provide inspection support across various business lines and departments, including during catastrophe responses.
• Review coverage, policy conditions, exclusions, and endorsements pertinent to auto damage claims.
• Oversee the repair process and set appropriate claim and expense reserves.
• Create and update action plans while maintaining effective records for vehicle repair resolutions.
• Communicate assessments of claim damage following negotiations with repair facilities.
• Secure authorization to initiate payments to either customers or repair facilities.
• Engage in the Catastrophe Response Program, which may require deployment for a minimum of 16 days.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED with at least one year of auto appraisal experience.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Technical School Degree is preferred.
• State appraiser and claim handling licenses (as applicable).
• Preferred two years of auto appraisal experience; prior experience with an insurance carrier is advantageous.
• Strong technical foundation with extensive knowledge of auto repair, techniques, terminology, and construction.
• Comprehensive understanding of claims appraisal systems and overall claim processes.
• Proficient in Windows applications, including Excel and Word.
• Willingness to participate in Auto Catastrophe response, including potential extended deployment and unscheduled travel with minimal notice.
• Strong mathematical and negotiation abilities.
• Capability to stay updated on jurisdictional laws and regulations while effectively communicating compliance requirements.
• Commitment to ongoing education.
• A valid driver's license is essential.
• Insurance license(s) may be necessary and should generally be obtained within three months of employment, along with ongoing continuing education credits.
