This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the authorization-denial pipeline at the trend level.
• Analyze root causes among payers and lead efforts for systemic resolution.
• Develop and maintain automated workflows to minimize manual authorization tasks.
• Oversee and nurture the authorization team, focusing on staffing, quality audits, and productivity standards.
• Manage essential partner relationships concerning authorization-specific matters.
• Address escalations and implement process improvements with partners.
• Represent the authorization function during cross-functional discussions with payor partnerships.
• Collaborate with Billing, Eligibility, and Coding teams to resolve cross-departmental issues.
• Highlight systemic authorization trends for escalation.
• Prepare the function for new frameworks and partnerships as Grow expands.
• Report directly to the Pre-Bill Operations Manager.
• Supervise the Authorization Specialist and the outsourced authorization-entry team.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in authorization, utilization management, patient access, or medical billing.
• At least 1 year of experience in a management role.
• Proficient in SQL or the ability to quickly become proficient.
• Comfortable leading and validating data-driven, automated workflows.
• Experience in people management, preferably in authorization, utilization management, or patient access.
• Strong analytical skills to identify denial trends across payers.
• Capable of managing external partner relationships and escalating issues in a professional manner.
• Ability to establish and enforce repeatable workflows for a high-volume, complex function.
• Adaptable to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Previous experience with the VA Community Care Network or other government payer authorization is a plus.
• Prior experience with Employee Assistance Programs, such as Cigna or Octave, is advantageous.
• Experience in building or scaling operational functions is beneficial.
• Hands-on experience with SQL or workflow automation is a plus.
• Must currently reside in the United States.
