This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +6 more states.
β’ Provide administrative medical support to healthcare providers by securing referrals or prior authorizations for patients seeking specialty care.
β’ Accurately and consistently complete referrals and/or authorizations with minimal supervision.
β’ Process authorization and referral requests for members in collaboration with health plans and contracted providers within Managed Care.
β’ Assist Case Management staff as needed.
β’ Act as a resource for providers regarding the authorization process.
β’ Work full-time during the day shift on various weekdays with rotating weekends.
β’ High School Diploma or GED.
β’ A minimum of 2 years of recent relevant experience.
β’ Automobile insurance as required by the department.
β’ Valid Class C or B Driver's License issued by a State Department of Motor Vehicles.
β’ Familiarity with medical terminology.
β’ Knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), and International Classification of Diseases (ICD)-9 coding.
β’ Understanding of human anatomy.
β’ Ability to exercise discretion and make independent decisions.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word, or similar software.
β’ Capability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions.
β’ Strong active listening, interpersonal, and telephone communication skills.
β’ Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and follow-up.
