This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and provide support for full-stack applications, backend services, APIs, data integrations, and automation solutions specifically for Internal Audit.
• Collaborate with auditors, data analytics team members, and product owners to gain insights into audit workflows, user requirements, risks, controls, and acceptance criteria.
• Convert audit requirements and analytical models into production-ready applications, APIs, data integrations, and reusable services.
• Construct reusable components, libraries, frameworks, and shared services.
• Embed analytics, AI-driven capabilities, and workflow automation into audit products while ensuring security, validation, monitoring, and human oversight.
• Implement version control, conduct code reviews, perform automated testing, ensure continuous integration and delivery, maintain technical documentation, and follow secure coding practices.
• Establish and oversee deployment pipelines and environment configurations that align with enterprise architecture, security, privacy, data governance, and technology standards.
• Monitor application performance and reliability, address defects, support production releases, and enact sustainable fixes and improvements.
• Engage in backlog refinement, iteration planning, standups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Work with platform engineers and enterprise technology partners to integrate audit solutions with approved cloud, data, identity, and deployment services.
• Contribute to the establishment of technical standards, architectural decisions, knowledge sharing, code reviews, and documentation.
• Operate independently without supervisory responsibilities.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in software engineering or application development is preferred.
• Proven experience in developing and supporting production applications, APIs, or automation solutions utilizing modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Experience with Python is preferred.
• Familiarity with Git-based development workflows, including pull requests, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with relational databases, data pipelines, cloud services, containers, or infrastructure automation is preferred.
• Ability to translate business requirements into maintainable technical solutions and effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in audit, risk, compliance, financial services, or a regulated environment is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with developing or integrating analytics, machine learning, generative AI, agents, or workflow automation is advantageous but not required.
• A background investigation is required.

• Reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload is necessary.
