
Audit Manager – Venture Capital

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee venture capital fund audit engagements from the initial planning stages to the issuance of reports and completion of binders with minimal supervision.
• Formulate audit strategies, conduct risk assessments, and create engagement plans, staffing plans, and timelines.
• Examine audit workpapers, financial statements, and associated documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with professional standards.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve technical accounting and auditing issues.
• Manage multiple engagements and engagement teams concurrently, reallocating sections and resources as necessary.
• Liaise with engagement teams, Directors, and Partners regarding job progress, outstanding items, timelines, and budgets.
• Act as the primary day-to-day client contact throughout the entire audit process.
• Clarify technical accounting and auditing topics to engagement teams and client personnel.
• Compose management letter comments and engage clients in discussions about potential findings.
• Assist with billing, address client billing inquiries, and support collection efforts.
• Mentor, train, and oversee Associates and Seniors.
• Advocate for the Firm’s mission and culture.
• A current and active CPA license.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
• 5 to 9 years of public accounting audit experience with venture capital, private equity, investment companies, or alternative investment funds.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, investment company accounting, audit methodologies, and risk assessment principles.
• Capability to manage multiple engagements, deadlines, teams, and client relationships simultaneously.
• Proficiency in supervising, mentoring, and developing Associates and Seniors.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for fostering and maintaining client relationships.
• Independent thought, sound professional judgment, strong organizational abilities, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
• A strong commitment to integrity, accountability, high-quality output, and exceptional client service.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
