Attorney – Bodily Injury/Property Damage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee and litigate Bodily Injury and select Property Damage claims, which include first-party property claims, subrogation, and bad faith litigation.

• Represent the organization throughout all stages of litigation, from pre-suit investigations to trial and post-trial activities.

• Formulate case strategies and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery documents, briefs, memoranda, and legal opinions.

• Participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, trials, arbitrations, and settlement discussions.

• Provide expert legal guidance to the claims department, management, and various internal teams.

• Ensure that actions taken during the claims process align with relevant laws and regulations.

• Advise on legal risks related to policy interpretations, claims settlements, and potential liabilities.

• Negotiate settlements on behalf of the organization efficiently and cost-effectively.

• Conduct legal research pertaining to Texas property damage, insurance laws, regulations, court rulings, and legislative changes.

• Assist in formulating policies and procedures aimed at reducing legal exposure while enhancing operational efficiency.

• Collaborate with claims personnel, adjusters, and legal teams to deliver proactive legal support.

• Convey intricate legal concepts and strategies to non-legal personnel.


⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

• Admission to the Texas Bar with good standing.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in personal injury law, particularly in automobile accidents.

• Strong comprehension of insurance laws and regulations.

• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and devise effective strategies.

• Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.

• Preference for strong litigation experience and trial skills.

• Exceptional negotiation, oral advocacy, and legal writing abilities.

• Capacity to manage a high volume of cases and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Proficient in case management software, legal research tools, and Microsoft Office.

• Demonstrated proficiency in legal technology and digital litigation tools.

• Advanced skills in case management systems, electronic document management platforms, and legal research databases such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable.

• Applicants must reside in the Texas Market.

• Willingness to travel up to 20% to Houston.
