Pre-Litigation Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Collaborate directly with the lead pre-litigation attorney throughout the docket.

• Take full ownership of every assigned task from initiation to completion.

• Submit completed work by the agreed-upon deadline, ensuring accuracy on the first attempt.

• Draft valuation memorandums, response letters, and negotiation strategies.

• Manage calls and negotiations as your skills advance.

• Engage with clients on assigned matters within one business day, even if there are no updates.

• Communicate unfavorable news promptly and via phone.

• Gradually take on additional cases, negotiations, and decision-making responsibilities within the first year.

• Establish the agenda and manage cases according to the firm's timeline and strategy.

• Ensure progress on each case on a weekly basis.

• Identify case issues on the same day, providing evidence and a proposed solution.

• Address recurring process challenges.

• Be accountable for results, including deadlines, figures, and transitions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Licensed to practice in Minnesota or Illinois, or in another U.S. jurisdiction with the intention to gain admission in Minnesota or Illinois within 12 months of your start date.

• If you have taken the July 2026 bar exam, your start date will follow your swearing-in ceremony.

• Demonstrated ability to persuade others and influence their positions.

• Proven capability to manage a substantial workload and meet deadlines independently.

• Willingness to receive regular, direct coaching and implement feedback swiftly.

• Interest or experience in plaintiff-side employment is advantageous.

• Experience in negotiation in any context is a plus.
