This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Support the Attendance Specialist in overseeing and documenting daily student attendance utilizing the school's Student Information System.
• Confirm attendance through various virtual engagement indicators such as logins, participation, assignment submissions, and instructional involvement.
• Ensure attendance records are accurate, complete, and up-to-date in accordance with school, state, and federal regulations.
• Produce attendance reports for administrators, support personnel, and compliance-related needs.
• Recognize attendance patterns, chronic absenteeism issues, and identify at-risk students for necessary escalation and intervention.
• Follow up with students and families concerning absences, tardiness, truancy issues, and required documentation.
• Address attendance-related questions from staff and families.
• Assist with student re-engagement initiatives.
• Aid the Attendance Specialist during Attendance Review Committee meetings.
• Record attendance interventions, attempts to communicate with parents, meeting results, and compliance documentation.
• Prepare attendance materials for administrative evaluation and compliance audits.
• Contribute to truancy prevention initiatives and monitor intervention strategies and follow-up actions.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, counselors, educational concierges, and support teams to address discrepancies and enhance attendance results.
• Partner with campus and district personnel to implement attendance protocols and compliance requirements.
• A high school diploma or its equivalent is mandatory.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a school environment, managing student records, or providing administrative support is preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities are essential.
• Proficiency in working with Student Information Systems (such as Ascender or similar) is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
• Capability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a remote or dynamic setting.
• Must possess the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and empathetically with parents/guardians regarding student attendance matters and interventions.
• Authorization to work for any employer in the United States is required.
