This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Develop, manage, and lead DNE's half-over-half execution roadmap encompassing new builds, front-end fabric projects, technology upgrades, retrofits, and special initiatives.
• Transform the approved Plan of Record and engineering priorities into a deployable portfolio that includes scope, milestones, sequencing, resource requirements, and committed timelines.
• Assess new demands against portfolio capacity, hardware availability, site readiness, and existing obligations.
• Facilitate prioritization and tradeoff discussions when multiple projects vie for shared hardware, engineering support, field resources, or deployment timelines.
• Maintain a comprehensive view of the portfolio that includes planned, committed, active, at-risk, and completed tasks.
• Responsible for project intake and validating execution artifacts, readiness criteria, dependencies, assumptions, exceptions, and unresolved decisions.
• Oversee program execution from accepted intake through kickoff, material delivery, field installation, provisioning, validation, operational handoff, and project closure.
• Create and sustain integrated schedules that encompass engineering, delivery, deployment, construction, site teams, logistics, sourcing, vendors, and operations.
• Lead kickoff meetings, weekly execution reviews, milestone evaluations, and decision forums with clearly assigned owners, due dates, and escalation pathways.
• Propel stage-gate completion and ensure thorough, timely, and actionable handoffs.
• Confirm acceptance criteria, open defects, operational responsibilities, and residual risks before project closure.
• Maintain visibility at the portfolio level regarding hardware demand, supply, allocation, and deployment deadlines.
• Collaborate with logistics, sourcing, supply chain, and hardware program teams to verify BOMs, forecast demand, monitor purchase orders or pooled allocations, and confirm material arrivals.
• Identify shortages, substitutions, excess allocations, and delayed materials before they impact milestones.
• Lead allocation trade-offs across projects and regions while tracking emergency material requests.
• Maintain risk and dependency registers that quantify schedule impacts, mitigation strategies, owners, due dates, and escalation thresholds.
• Recognize cross-domain dependencies and manage programmatic change control for design, BOM, scope, priority, and schedule modifications.
• Strategically escalate issues when decisions, resource limitations, or unresolved risks jeopardize scope, schedule, quality, or operational readiness.
• Coordinate SEV-related program activities and monitor permanent follow-up tasks to completion.
• Act as the primary point of accountability for the assigned DNE deployment portfolios.
• Foster partnerships across engineering, deployment, procurement, sourcing, site teams, PM/PC partners, vendors, and operations.
• Drive decisions and accountability without direct authority.
• Provide succinct leadership updates and present delivery health, capacity readiness, material risks, and execution trends.
• Maintain precise execution data and utilize deployment dashboards and hardware trackers.
• Create automated status reporting, portfolio scorecards, dependency views, and exception-based reporting.
• Define data ownership and resolve conflicting dates, statuses, or scopes across systems.
• Lead retrospectives and translate lessons learned into enhanced intake standards, readiness gates, templates, automation, and training.
• Develop reusable playbooks and mentor PM/PC partners and new team members.
• Minimize duplicate meetings, manual reporting, and ambiguous handoffs while enhancing visibility and accountability.
• Over 10 years of experience in technical program or portfolio management within network infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, data centers, telecommunications, or other large-scale physical infrastructure settings.
• Proven track record of managing complex, multi-site deployment programs from intake to operational handoff.
• Experience in creating roadmaps, integrated schedules, readiness gates, dependency models, risk registers, and quantifiable delivery commitments.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize concurrent programs that share hardware, engineering, and field resources.
• Capacity to drive decisions, accountability, and conflict resolution among teams without direct authority.
• Exceptional executive communication abilities, including concise written updates and confident leadership presentations.
• Solid understanding of data center network fabrics, including front-end and backend boundaries, spine/leaf concepts, Top of Rack switching, fabric layers, physical topology, and redundancy.
• Familiarity with the deployment lifecycle: design, BOM, sourcing, staging, rack and stack, cabling, provisioning, quality assurance, acceptance, and operational handoff.
• Competence in interpreting and questioning an EDP, BOM, MOP, deployment workflow, dependency map, and site-readiness package.
• Ability to discuss hardware, optics, cabling, power, space, and site dependencies with engineers without needing to perform engineering tasks.
• Experience in environments with evolving architectures, lifecycle retrofits, migrations, and first-of-a-kind deployment challenges.
• Background in hardware demand planning, BOM management, material allocation, purchase-order or pool tracking, logistics, and supply-risk mitigation.
• Aptitude for linking supply status to schedule confidence and making evidence-based allocation recommendations.
• Familiarity with project and engineering work-management tools.
• Ability to develop useful program metrics, dashboards, and automated reporting from imperfect operational data.
• Proven success in streamlining workflows, reducing manual effort, and enhancing execution through standardization or automation.
