This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
β’ Conduct independent assurance reviews, thematic in-depth analyses, and control testing within the organization, with an emphasis on financial crime.
β’ Oversee the financial crime scope in the assurance plan and establish priorities in collaboration with the MLRO.
β’ Manage additional assurance scope as instructed by the Head of Assurance.
β’ Integrate the combined assurance approach with Compliance, Risk, FinCrime, and Internal Audit functions.
β’ Establish evidence standards for remediation and confirm the effectiveness of implemented fixes.
β’ Maintain ownership of the actions tracker and work to minimize the backlog.
β’ Generate assurance workpapers and reports.
β’ Act as a representative for the Head of Assurance at ERCO, BRC, and other governance committees as required.
β’ Enhance testing methodologies, templates, and tools.
β’ Complete three to four comprehensive assurance reviews within a six-month timeframe.
β’ Report directly to the Head of Assurance, with an indirect reporting line to the MLRO for financial crime priorities.
β’ Collaborate with first-line teams, gaining direct exposure to the CRO and Exco.
β’ Experience in assurance, audit, or quality control, including control testing.
β’ Background in financial crime as a reviewer, process owner, consultant, or in a previous assurance capacity.
β’ Strong understanding of the UK regulatory framework, encompassing POCA, SAR obligations, and FCA/PRA expectations.
β’ Proven ability to raise and defend difficult findings when necessary.
β’ Experience in a regulated financial services environment.
β’ Strong judgment to engage in challenging discussions with first-line teams.
β’ Coordination capabilities to facilitate a combined assurance model.
β’ Excellent writing skills with a commitment to producing clear and comprehensible documentation.
β’ Relevant qualifications such as ICA financial crime, CAMS, or IIA are preferred.
β’ Experience in model validation, prudential risk, or technological assurance is advantageous.
β’ Legal eligibility to work in the UK.
