This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee the transport planning service line and provide technical guidance.
• Direct the execution of transport planning, net zero, and decarbonization initiatives.
• Ensure timely project delivery, adhering to budget constraints and meeting client expectations.
• Offer strategic and technical leadership across various projects.
• Create technical documents, client reports, and presentations.
• Collaborate with data science and software development teams to streamline processes and support ongoing improvement.
• Manage technical oversight, advisory functions, and analysis for transport and net zero projects.
• Develop and sustain robust client relationships.
• Present technical insights and proposals to senior stakeholders.
• Represent City Science at industry conferences and events.
• Lead the preparation of bids, tenders, and proposals.
• Identify and secure new business prospects.
• Contribute to revenue enhancement and strategic partnerships.
• Cultivate, manage, mentor, and support the transport planning team.
• Uphold high standards of technical quality and project execution.
• Facilitate engagement sessions, content development, and outreach as needed.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years in a commercial setting.
• Demonstrated experience in leading complex transport planning projects and programs.
• Strong track record in business development and securing work.
• Experience in implementing transport, sustainability, and decarbonization strategies.
• Familiarity with advising on Local Transport Plans and Local Cycling & Walking Infrastructure Plans (LCWIPs).
• Excellent report writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proven experience in managing and developing teams.
• Degree qualified (minimum 2:1 or equivalent), preferably in a STEM field such as Physics, Engineering, Geography, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
• Experience in transport systems and leading technical project components.
• In-depth technical knowledge of transport planning and sustainability.
• Extensive network of client relationships.
• An entrepreneurial, resilient, and determined mindset.
• A Master’s degree in Transport Planning is desirable.
• Chartered status or progress towards chartership is preferred.
• Completion of project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or APM is an asset.
• Experience in delivering BSIPs and Electric Vehicle Strategies is beneficial.
• Knowledge of GIS, data analysis, and transport modeling tools is desirable.
• Experience in consulting, technology, or high-growth environments is preferred.
• Must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
