This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Accurately and thoroughly implement designated changes into aviation operational manuals and associated documentation.
• Assemble provided technical information into the specified manual format.
• Consistently apply styles, formatting, templates, numbering, references, and document structure.
• Utilize Microsoft Word, MadCap, Adobe Acrobat, JIRA, and MEL Manager for the creation of manuals and task management.
• Transform documents into the necessary internal tools and formats as required.
• Update the status of JIRA tasks and monitor progress of assigned work through the appropriate workflow.
• Verify completed tasks for accuracy, consistency, and completeness prior to submission or handover.
• Identify unclear instructions, missing details, formatting problems, inconsistencies, and content conflicts, and report them to the relevant Author.
• Assess work efforts and communicate progress, obstacles, and capacity concerns.
• Collaborate with the Technical Publishing team and offer support to colleagues.
• Employ AI-assisted tools for proofreading, consistency checks, formatting, repetitive editing, content aggregation, and spotting inconsistencies.
• Complete AI User onboarding within 30 days and embrace evolving digital work practices.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Background in technical editing, document production, or a similar detail-oriented documentation role.
• Experience in aviation or other regulated or technical environments is preferred.
• Proficiency, or the capability to achieve proficiency, in Microsoft Word, MadCap, Adobe Acrobat, JIRA, and MEL Manager.
• Exceptional attention to detail regarding content placement, formatting, styles, numbering, references, and overall structure.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and reliably.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to ask questions and address issues appropriately.
• Capacity to manage workload transparently and communicate when at full capacity.
• Previous experience with aviation operational manuals or MadCap Flare is advantageous.
• Familiarity with JIRA workflows and document control processes is beneficial.
• Experience in converting documents between formats and internal tools is desirable.
