This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collect and compose technical documentation for the installation, operation, and maintenance of information systems.
• Create technical documents, procedure manuals, service manuals, and related publications using clear and concise language.
• Ensure that technical documents are accessible and comprehensible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Verify that documentation accurately references organizational policies.
• Review, conduct quality assurance, and edit relevant materials.
• Gain and validate knowledge by collaborating with stakeholders to develop new products and services, as well as enhancing existing documentation.
• Observe information system pilots and analyze drawings, notes, article revisions, manuals, and similar publications.
• Ensure adherence to existing IT standards by modifying text and suggesting scope changes.
• Confirm the appropriate use of technical terminology in IT-related documents.
• Collaborate with system owners and subject matter experts to understand current and upcoming technologies and standards.
• Conduct requirement analysis, software design, development, installation, testing, and maintenance for application system components.
• Perform evaluation, integration, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution of operating systems and/or products.
• Provide technical leadership, review work products, and offer technical recommendations for modifications in supported technical architecture.
• Operate within an object-oriented environment.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in writing, editing, and preparing business or technical documentation for SOPs, user guides/job aids, workflow diagrams, etc.
• At least 1–2 years of experience supporting a federal agency.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience with SharePoint or similar tools for document management, collaboration, and content organization.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Competence in using Microsoft Teams.
• Familiarity with IT standards and frameworks.
• A quiet and distraction-free workspace with reliable internet access.
• Full attention and availability during working hours.
• Ability to maintain a schedule during core business hours in alignment with coworkers and clients.
• Disclosure of current or future outside employment and obtaining written approval for outside employment or professional activities.
• Capability to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods and consistently operate a computer.
• Frequent communication through electronic methods, phone calls, and in-person interactions.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move moderate weights, typically under 20 pounds.
