Associate Staff Engineer, Salesforce Health Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Comprehend client business use cases and technical needs, translating them into technical designs.

• Align architectural choices with requirements and interpret them for developers.

• Assess and evaluate solution options to identify the best match for client needs.

• Oversee the comprehensive Health Cloud technical strategy, guaranteeing scalability, security, and compliance with HIPAA/PHI standards.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, architects, and senior leadership regarding Health Cloud functionalities and best practices.

• Review and validate high- and low-level technical designs against enterprise architecture standards.

• Ensure adherence to Salesforce best practices, including governor-limit optimization, performance tuning, and code-quality standards.

• Provide guidance to teams on Salesforce security, data access, sharing rules, consent management, and compliance requirements.

• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and Salesforce technical teams.

• Collaborate with Salesforce Architects and Developers to create scalable solutions.

• Assess solution feasibility in relation to Salesforce capabilities and project constraints.

• Prepare and maintain process flows, business process models, functional diagrams, and documentation.

• Take part in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Clarify Salesforce capabilities and solution trade-offs to users.

• Facilitate user adoption through training materials, user guides, and release notes.

• Evaluate existing Salesforce implementations and suggest process improvements and optimization opportunities.

• Establish guidelines and benchmarks for non-functional requirements.

• Draft and review architecture and high-level design documents.

• Assess architecture and design for extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, and non-functional requirements (NFRs).

• Develop comprehensive solutions for functional and non-functional requirements, defining technologies, patterns, and frameworks.

• Leverage technology-integration knowledge in projects.

• Address code-review issues through systematic root-cause analysis and provide justifications for decisions made.

• Conduct proofs of concept to validate proposed designs and technologies.

• Mentor team members while holding them accountable for high delivery standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of total experience.

• Lead the end-to-end Salesforce Health Cloud solution architecture and delivery for large-scale enterprise healthcare implementations.

• In-depth knowledge of Salesforce Health Cloud features, including Patient/Member Profiles, Care Plans, Care Programs, Care Teams, Health Timelines, Assessments, Care Gaps, and Utilization Management.

• Proven experience in translating complex healthcare business requirements into scalable Salesforce Health Cloud solutions.

• Background in making architectural decisions across Salesforce core, Health Cloud extensions, integrations, data models, and automation.

• Hands-on leadership experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, Triggers, Batch Apex, and Salesforce APIs.

• Experience in defining and managing integration architecture using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, FHIR, and HL7.

• Strong understanding of EHR/EMR integrations, payer/provider workflows, and patient/member lifecycle management.

• Experience in leading requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.

• Background in providing technical governance, conducting design/code reviews, and managing architectural risks and technical debt.

• Experience in leading and mentoring geographically distributed Salesforce teams, including developers, admins, QA, and offshore delivery teams.

• Hands-on experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Copado, Git, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins.

• Experience collaborating with program managers on scope, timelines, risks, and delivery commitments.

• Proven experience driving innovation, proofs of concept, Salesforce Health Cloud feature adoption, and platform enhancements.

• Participation in roadmap planning, release strategy, and long-term platform evolution.

• Significant experience in Agile/Scaled Agile environments, sprint planning, and release management.

• Exceptional communication, leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
