Associate Security Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Analyze user activity, logs, and alerts from NGAV/EDR, Firewall, IDS/IPS, Web Proxy, and other technologies for clients in diverse industries.

• Monitor, triage, and investigate SIEM alerts along with client support inquiries.

• Assist in the development and fine-tuning of new SIEM detection capabilities.

• Contribute to and engage in the documentation of Incident Response activities.

• Conduct regular vulnerability scans, evaluate results, and recommend remedial actions.

• Provide reports on security threats, metrics, and defense effectiveness to various client audiences.

• Aid in the establishment of a next-generation Security Operations Center and actively hunt for evidence of compromise within client environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of pertinent experience in Cybersecurity, risk management, security operations, network operations, or comparable knowledge.

• Proficient in the use of SIEM and EDR tools for monitoring, detecting, and responding to potential security incidents.

• Demonstrated experience in investigating potential threats, whether through proactive threat hunting or analyzing customer-reported tickets.

• Strong capability to triage events, accurately distinguishing genuine threats from false positives.

• Skilled in log analysis, interpreting system logs to uncover security events and identify root causes.

• Familiarity with threat intelligence, applying insights to enhance detection and response capabilities.

• Understanding of network protocols and system vulnerabilities to effectively assess and mitigate security risks.

• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and security frameworks (e.g., ISO, NIST, PCI, GDPR) and their implementation.

• Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, facilitating precise evaluation of complex security data.

• Strong communication skills, capable of clearly documenting findings and providing actionable recommendations.

• Willingness to work the specified Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Friday day-shift schedule.
