Associate, Scoring Service

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Assess responses to test questions from teacher candidates in New York.

• Assimilate scoring criteria, engage in discussions, and collaborate with fellow scorers during consensus scoring activities.

• Identify and address implicit biases such as cultural, leniency, central tendency, and halo-effect biases, and implement strategies to minimize personal biases in scoring.

• Adhere to quality and productivity standards set for the scoring program.

• Successfully pass a qualifying test prior to commencing scoring duties.

• Complete the necessary training prior to the start of scoring, which may include attending a brief orientation session.

• Participate in periodic scoring sessions one day every eight weeks, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m., including training.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid teaching certification in the relevant subject area.

• Must be currently teaching or have taught in public or private schools within the last three years, which includes regular substitute teaching; OR

• Must currently or formerly be an educator from a college or university who has taught or advised in a content-relevant field within the last three years; OR

• Possess a degree in the content area and have professional experience in that field within the last three years.

• Both active and recently retired professionals may qualify.

• Proficient in basic computer skills, including keyboarding and mouse usage.

• Capability to sit for extended durations.

• Ability to maintain a confidential work setting.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

• Must pass a qualifying test prior to scoring.
