This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide online instruction to undergraduate and/or graduate students.
• Initiate, facilitate, engage with, and oversee online classroom activities.
• Foster student participation and develop enriching online learning experiences.
• Adhere to APU/AMU standards and expectations for high-quality online faculty involvement.
• Assess and grade student coursework, assignments, and papers within designated deadlines.
• Offer constructive feedback to enhance student learning and achievement.
• Actively participate in the classroom and respond to emails at least every other day, including one weekend day.
• Stay informed about classroom protocols and instructional resources.
• Engage in professional development focused on pedagogical skills and online teaching strategies.
• Collaborate with faculty and Department Chairs on program and course coherence, relevance, and curriculum objectives.
• Uphold instructional standards and policies in line with accreditation, certification, and other regulations.
• Conduct scholarly research and remain updated in the nursing discipline.
• Participate in professional organizations, conferences, institutional meetings, and discipline-specific gatherings.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A Doctoral degree in Nursing or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution is mandatory.
• A relevant Doctoral degree may be acceptable if the candidate holds a master’s degree in Nursing.
• An active, unencumbered compact nursing license is necessary.
• Willingness to acquire additional state licenses as required is essential.
• At least five years of teaching experience is required.
• Experience in online college-level teaching is highly desirable.
• A minimum of five years of experience in the nursing profession is required.
• Military or VA Nursing experience is preferred.
• Research experience is considered a plus.
• CNE certification is preferred.
• Graduate Faculty must complete the Graduate Faculty Certification (APUS501) within 90 days of employment.
• All faculty members must complete the Engaging the First-Year Student Certification course (APUS110) within six months of employment.
• Foreign degrees require an evaluation on a course-by-course basis by a NACES-approved agency.
• Full-time faculty cannot be employed full-time at another university, school, college, or higher education institution.
• Full-time faculty are salaried employees.
