Associate Principal Engineer, AI Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Comprehend client business scenarios and technical specifications, transforming them into technical designs.

• Take ownership of the architecture and technical vision for AI-driven user-facing applications developed using Python, React, and Generative AI.

• Create scalable, secure, and cost-effective backend platforms for LLM inference, RAG pipelines, and agent-based orchestration.

• Define frontend architecture and UX patterns for AI-native applications, which include conversational interfaces, copilots, and intelligent dashboards.

• Lead intricate GenAI workflows that integrate LLMs, tools, APIs, structured data, and user context.

• Set engineering standards for prompt design, model integration, evaluation, and observability.

• Propel GenAI platformization by developing reusable components, SDKs, and frameworks.

• Collaborate with product, design, data, and business leaders to devise scalable technical solutions.

• Evaluate critical designs and codebases, remove obstacles for teams, and enhance engineering standards.

• Guide technical discovery and solution development for high-impact initiatives and client or executive-facing workshops.

• Ensure adherence to security, privacy, compliance, governance, and responsible AI practices.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools like Copilot and Claude Code while upholding production quality.

• Align technical decisions with requirements and effectively communicate them to developers.

• Identify and refine solution options to fulfill client needs.

• Establish NFR guidelines and benchmarks.

• Draft and review architecture, framework, and high-level design documentation.

• Assess architecture and design for extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, and NFRs.

• Formulate overall solutions for functional and non-functional requirements, defining technologies, patterns, and frameworks.

• Apply technology integration scenarios and insights across various projects.

• Address code and review issues through systematic root-cause analysis and provide justifications for decisions.

• Conduct proofs of concept to validate proposed designs and technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• 9+ years of total experience.

• Extensive software engineering experience with strong expertise in Python.

• Experience in developing microservices and APIs utilizing Python, FastAPI, and Node.js.

• Demonstrated experience in architecting and delivering production-grade Generative AI applications at scale.

• Robust system design skills spanning backend, frontend, and AI infrastructure layers.

• Proficient in architecting and implementing scalable ML, Generative AI, and Agentic AI solutions, including LLMs, RAG, and autonomous agents.

• Experience in Enterprise Architecture and Solution Design.

• Ability to construct end-to-end AI pipelines and integrate vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or Milvus.

• Experience in deploying secure, production-grade hybrid and cloud AI solutions using AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Familiarity with modern CI/CD, AI-assisted code optimization, and strict access control protocols.

• Capability to leverage emerging AI research, fine-tune models, optimize codebases, and manage scalable compute resources.

• Experience in defining technical strategy and influencing architecture across teams or pods.

• Ability to mentor junior engineers, drive agile workflows using Jira, and collaborate with product managers.

• Strong understanding of AI Governance and Responsible AI, multi-cloud AI platform architecture, AgentOps/GenAIOps, Knowledge Graphs, and Semantic Layer Architecture.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP and distributed systems.

• Proficient in translating ambiguous business challenges into robust technical architectures.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and technical leadership.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
