Associate, Options Clearing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of daily reconciliation, settlement, and expiration processing within the options book.

• Identify and resolve discrepancies before they impact clients.

• Serve as the expert on OCC and CDCC clearing, encompassing SOLA, exercises, assignments, and institutional options transfers.

• Collaborate with the Trade Desk, engineering, and various operations teams to address trade and position inconsistencies while minimizing risk.

• Utilize pivot tables, lookups, and SQL to pinpoint the root causes of inefficiencies.

• Create and enhance tools and workflows in response to increasing options volumes.

• Establish processes aimed at boosting back-office operational efficiency.

• Report directly to the Senior Manager, Options Clearing.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in back-office reconciliations, settlements, or options clearing (OCC/CDCC) at a broker-dealer or registered investment dealer.

• Proficient in handling large data sets and skilled in identifying and clarifying position discrepancies.

• Basic knowledge of SQL or a willingness to quickly acquire it.

• Availability to support early and late shifts on a rotating basis around market events and settlement cycles.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with trading, product, and operations teams.

• Progress towards or completion of CSC, DFOL, or other relevant industry courses is a plus.

• Familiarity with CDS or DTCC settlement is advantageous.

• Knowledge of Claude AI or Claude Code is a plus.

• Must be eligible to work in Canada without current or future sponsorship requirements.
