Associate, Network Contracting – Central Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Negotiate and oversee contracts with hospitals, health systems, and individual healthcare providers.

• Develop and sustain a strong provider network within the designated market or region.

• Ensure access to high-quality care while optimizing costs through provider performance evaluation and reimbursement-rate negotiations.

• Engage potential providers to facilitate network expansion and recruitment.

• Assist in resolving issues faced by providers.

• Support initiatives aimed at cost savings.

• Aid in the design and implementation of the local network strategy.

• Provide information and resources to empower providers in delivering top-tier member care.

• Execute contracting strategies that align with network adequacy, development, and cost-management goals.

• Manage contracts in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory guidelines.

• Act as a subject matter expert for contracting specialists and/or analysts.

• Review and evaluate provider contracts to pinpoint areas for improvement and optimization.

• Utilize provider financial data and competitor strategy insights to inform negotiation and contracting strategies.

• Mentor and guide junior team members; offer training and development opportunities.

• Assist in refining contracting policies, workflows, process enhancements, metrics, and service level agreements (SLAs).

• Collaborate with provider services on network management, education, and communication efforts.

• Monitor assigned networks for compliance and devise corrective action plans as needed.

• Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations.

• Perform additional duties as required.

• Report to the Manager, Network Contracting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare client management, healthcare consulting, provider healthcare contracting, healthcare operations, or a related field.

• At least 2 years of experience in supporting provider network strategy development and negotiating provider contracts.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience conducting financial analyses on markets or product lines and collaborating cross-functionally to identify improvement opportunities.

• At least 1 year of experience in managing and organizing large data sets, including claim files and provider rosters.

• An Associate's degree or equivalent professional experience (additional qualifications preferred).
