Associate Manager, PDF Production – Delivery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more locations.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance the daily operations of automated PDF production workflows.

• Serve as a primary escalation contact for Content Production Specialists.

• Resolve intricate issues related to PDF production, formatting, and rendering.

• Collaborate with Typefi in a structured-content publishing environment to generate and enhance PDF outputs.

• Assist with both digital and print production, including requirements for print export.

• Implement and promote accessibility best practices for digital PDFs.

• Design, test, and execute workflow enhancements within established standards.

• Perform regression testing after any workflow or system modifications.

• Participate in broader structured-content workflows that support ePub and other digital learning outputs.

• Collaborate with teams such as Content Architecture, Content Technology, Editorial, and Production to address cross-system challenges.

• Provide guidance on PDF production, mentor peers, and help mitigate recurring production issues.

• Maintain workflow documentation and uphold consistent production and quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in PDF production and publishing workflows, preferably in educational publishing, digital publishing, or a similar production setting.

• Proven experience with XML-based, automated, or structured-content publishing systems and workflows.

• Proficient in troubleshooting complex production challenges.

• Experience with Typefi for PDF production is particularly advantageous.

• Practical knowledge of preparing PDFs for print, including export settings and commercial printing specifications.

• Familiarity with applying accessibility standards and best practices for digital PDFs.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including diagnosing production issues, identifying root causes, and implementing sustainable solutions.

• Experience in supporting, mentoring, or training colleagues in production workflows and tools.

• Capability to work independently, demonstrate sound judgment, and collaborate effectively across production, editorial, and technology teams.
