
Associate, Fraud Investigations, Cards and Disputes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Conduct investigations into card disputes and claims of unauthorized transactions.
β’ Assess transaction data, authentication techniques such as 3DS, Apple Pay, and Chip & PIN, along with digital footprints.
β’ Differentiate between genuine fraud and friendly fraud, as well as commercial disputes.
β’ Submit precise chargebacks in accordance with Visa/Mastercard dispute regulations.
β’ Assess when and how liability shifts take effect.
β’ Engage directly with clients regarding the dispute process and any missing funds.
β’ Set realistic expectations concerning card network timelines while providing empathetic and clear updates.
β’ Handle multiple card disputes in compliance with internal and regulatory case-closure service level agreements (SLAs).
β’ Take part in weekly calibration meetings with colleagues.
β’ Disseminate findings and pinpoint card-testing (BIN) attacks and merchant fraud schemes.
β’ At least 1 year of direct experience in fraud or disputes.
β’ Experience related to card chargebacks, Visa/Mastercard network regulations, or transaction monitoring is highly advantageous.
β’ Proven knowledge of fraud management frameworks, controls, and prevention systems in the financial services and payments sector.
β’ Capability to collect, organize, and analyze datasets with a high degree of precision and accuracy.
β’ Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
β’ Strong attention to detail.
β’ Proficiency in analyzing authorization data, IP addresses, device IDs, and entry methods.
β’ Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends, from Monday to Sunday between 8:00 AM and 8:30 PM EST.
