This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Promote early engagement with patients, gather patient insights, and generate evidence across key therapeutic areas and pipeline initiatives.
• Incorporate patient viewpoints into medical strategies, clinical development, evidence generation, patient-centered trial engagement, patient education, trial awareness, and drug development.
• Assist in creating patient evidence generation plans that address patient preferences, disease burden, patient experiences, unmet needs, outcomes, and initiatives focused on plain-language evidence.
• Identify gaps in patient evidence and prioritize activities for evidence generation in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Produce narratives, evidence summaries, and materials that support objectives related to regulatory, payer, health technology assessment, and launch readiness.
• Keep track of changing external expectations concerning patient experience data, patient-focused drug development, and health technology assessment standards.
• Organize and implement patient advisory boards, engage with patient organizations, conduct listening sessions, and carry out other activities aimed at generating insights.
• Convert insights from patients and caregivers into actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders.
• Facilitate the integration of patient perspectives into trial design, recruitment and retention strategies, materials for patients, and approaches to reduce burden.
• Aid in strategic interactions with professional societies, medical associations, and external experts.
• Organize and execute initiatives, sponsorships, and partnerships with professional societies.
• Ensure that all external engagements adhere to company policies, legal regulations, and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Legal/Compliance, Corporate Communications, and external organizations.
• Oversee timelines, work plans, budgets, vendors, agencies, and project trackers.
• Prepare updates for executives, highlight decision points, flag risks, and provide leadership recommendations.
• Contribute to yearly planning, budget creation, portfolio prioritization, and operational excellence.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage agencies without having direct reports.
• A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
• Over 7 years of relevant experience in patient engagement within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry and with patient organization non-profits.
• Experience in oncology and/or hematology is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in global and regional best practices when collaborating with patient organizations.
• Background in supporting and implementing global early patient engagement strategies.
• Experience in early patient engagement, patient advocacy, professional societies, medical affairs, clinical development, health outcomes, and engaging with external stakeholders.
• A solid understanding of pharmaceutical development and the importance of patient insights in clinical development, evidence generation, and regulatory readiness.
• Experience interacting with patient organizations, external experts, vendors, and internal stakeholders across various functions.
• Proven ability to manage intricate projects, timelines, budgets, agencies, and deliverables within a matrixed environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the capability to create executive-ready materials and accessible patient-facing content.
• High level of digital proficiency and the ability to utilize technology, digital platforms, and emerging tools effectively.
• Strong judgment, integrity, and awareness of compliance issues.
• Proven ability to influence without formal authority and work efficiently with global, regional, and local teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Smartsheet.
• Willingness to travel domestically 25% of the time and internationally as required.
