This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee a comprehensive corporate engagement strategy for companies managed and supported in California.
• Create partnership strategies aimed at engaging, retaining, and expanding corporate opportunities.
• Assess, analyze, and report on the success of corporate engagement initiatives.
• Manage a portfolio that includes corporate partners, C-suite executives, and members of corporate boards.
• Record between 90–110 moves and secure at least 10–15 letters of intent or proposals each year.
• Attain an annual fundraising goal of $2,000,000 or more.
• Collaborate with fundraising and conservation teams to enhance corporate giving opportunities.
• Act as a strategic partner to teams involved in corporate relations, principal gifts, corporate engagement, marketing, cause marketing, and brand partnerships.
• Provide guidance to California fundraising colleagues regarding the Chapter's corporate portfolio.
• Keep track of industry trends and identify avenues for increasing corporate giving and engagement.
• Collaborate with prospect research to identify and qualify potential corporate partners and their leadership.
• Lead or take part in negotiations for complex, high-stakes, or sensitive agreements.
• Manage collaborative and intricate projects, directing staff, overseeing budgets, setting deadlines, and ensuring accountability.
• Safeguard the confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ensure adherence to TNC policies, procedures, donor/legal/IRS requirements, and ethical standards.
• Establish and meet fundraising objectives, assess outcomes, and develop corrective strategies as necessary.
• Communicate TNC’s conservation mission to a variety of audiences.
• Travel frequently and at short notice; work extended hours and weekends as required.
• Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining long-term relationships with corporate donors.
• Demonstrated experience in soliciting and securing corporate or corporate foundation gifts.
• Track record of securing $500,000 in a fiscal year solely from corporate giving.
• Experience in managing or overseeing corporate practice and/or cause marketing engagements.
• Background in staffing senior leadership for moves management with corporate entities.
• Proficiency in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.
• Familiarity with fundraising principles and practices.
• Ability to design and implement effective fundraising strategies, including cultivation, solicitation, and recognition tactics.
• Valid driver's license and compliance with TNC’s Auto Safety Program.
• Completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of motor vehicle records.
