Associate Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Represent clients in lawsuits within New Jersey courts.

• Manage additional first-party insurance defense cases.

• Conduct legal research and draft briefs, opinions, and memoranda.

• Provide opinions on liability, damages, and value as needed by the Claims Department.

• Prepare and oversee pleadings, motions, and discovery processes.

• Conduct depositions, examinations before trial, and examinations under oath.

• Defend assigned cases through trial or dispositive hearing, as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury is REQUIRED.

• Juris Doctor degree is REQUIRED.

• Admission to the New Jersey Bar is REQUIRED.

• Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New Jersey.

• Must fulfill and maintain licensing requirements, including any mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) obligations where relevant.

• Willingness to travel as needed, including for trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.

• Ability to document files in a clear, concise, and professional manner.

• Capability to follow complex instructions and facilitate conflict resolution as necessary.

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.

• Must be able to learn and apply extensive technical and procedural information.

• Experience in civil litigation is preferred.

• Background in insurance defense-related litigation is preferred.

• Must communicate professionally in person, over the phone, and through written correspondence/email.
