Associate – Corporate Law

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Deliver concise, commercially driven legal guidance to SME and business clients regarding corporate issues.

• Counsel on corporate restructures, including share-for-share exchanges and demergers.

• Provide advice on the sale and acquisition of companies and businesses.

• Offer insights on investments and share issuances.

• Guide clients on corporate governance matters.

• Draft, assess, and negotiate shareholders' agreements, articles of association, loan agreements, and share purchase agreements.

• Cultivate trusted client relationships and provide practical, customized legal solutions.

• Assist in pitches and proposals.

• Recognize opportunities to enhance existing client relationships.

• Participate in networking events and engage in profile-raising activities.

• Nurture emerging client relationships over time.

• Collaborate with accountancy partners within the Sumer group.

• Support senior fee earners in managing complex transactions and client relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales.

• Approximately 0–2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in corporate law.

• Substantial experience in advising on corporate transactions, particularly for SMEs, founders, and owner-managed businesses.

• A commercial mindset with the ability to deliver practical, solution-oriented advice.

• Strong drafting and negotiation abilities across corporate documentation.

• Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple matters and meet deadlines.

• Interest and aptitude for business development.

• Readiness to engage in networking, client relationship building, and growth initiatives.

• A collaborative mindset and confidence in working with legal and accountancy teams.
