Associate Corporate Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Provide counsel to business leaders regarding insurance regulations and corporate legal issues

• Offer insights on privacy, AI governance, corporate compliance, and new regulatory developments

• Draft, evaluate, and negotiate commercial contracts and regulatory submissions

• Work in partnership with Product, Claims, Compliance, and Actuarial teams to ensure compliant insurance solutions

• Assist with corporate governance efforts, board reporting, and the creation of policies

• Oversee regulatory inquiries, audits, and market conduct issues

• Keep track of legislative and regulatory changes affecting the insurance sector

• Assess legal risks while supporting business leaders in reaching their strategic goals

• Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams across various locations and time zones

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a recognized law school

• Current license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

• California law license is mandatory

• 5-10 years of legal experience in insurance law, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and corporate transactions

• In-depth knowledge of personal auto insurance products and their regulatory contexts

• Proven experience advising diverse business partners and executive leadership

• Outstanding communication skills, capable of translating complex legal concepts into actionable business advice

• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills

• Willingness to work standard business hours with occasional flexibility required

• Ability to travel up to 10-15%
