This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate all incoming contracts from the sales department and compare them against standard terms and risk appetite.
• Pinpoint areas that necessitate negotiation or modification in accordance with the decision-making framework.
• Engage in direct negotiations with clients regarding contract terms, pricing, and conditions as necessary.
• Escalate contracts that fall outside the framework or need senior leadership approval, providing rationale and recommendations.
• Oversee the contract management system to ensure agreements are accurately stored, organized, and easily retrievable.
• Develop and enforce standardized workflows for contract management.
• Create and maintain a library of contract templates for various deal types and customer segments.
• Identify bottlenecks in processes and suggest solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Design and document sustainable long-term processes and frameworks for contract management.
• Establish decision-making guidelines for common contractual issues.
• Develop templates and playbooks to facilitate company growth.
• Collaborate with Legal, Sales, and other departments to refine processes and proactively identify issues.
• Partner with Sales to understand requirements and ensure deals progress smoothly.
• Assist Legal with complex agreements or issues that necessitate attorney review.
• Communicate contract status and necessary changes to clients.
• Mentor team members on contract fundamentals and escalation procedures.
• Report directly to the Sr. Counsel, Commercial & Privacy.
• Over 5 years of experience in contract management, legal operations, or a similar field.
• Bachelor's degree in business, law, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• Strong grasp of contract law, risk evaluation, and negotiation techniques.
• Proven experience in a dynamic environment, balancing efficiency with compliance.
• Excellent analytical abilities, with a keen eye for assessing contract language and identifying risks or opportunities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to convey legal concepts to non-legal teams.
• Detail-oriented with robust organizational and project management abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously while recognizing when to escalate issues.
• Problem-solving attitude, focused on delivering sustainable solutions rather than temporary fixes.
• Capability to modify communication style to suit diverse audiences, ranging from Sales representatives to customers and senior executives.
• Proactive in spotting and executing process improvements.
• Adept at balancing customer-centricity with safeguarding the company's interests.
• Comfortable navigating legal gray areas and making sound judgments within established frameworks.
