This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +2 more states.
• Manage a designated book of business within an approximate 3-hour driving radius.
• Develop and implement localized account strategies and segment targets based on opportunity size and readiness.
• Maintain a dynamic Salesforce pipeline linked to adoption milestones.
• Generate leads and secure or facilitate initial meetings.
• Route and prepare appointments for the overseeing CSM, while coordinating regional field coverage with ISR and CSM teams.
• Prospect and qualify high-potential targets within the designated territory.
• Onboard new accounts and guide them through their initial order.
• Convert first-time orders into consistent, ongoing orders and encourage reorder behavior.
• Expand the number of ordering providers within accounts and eliminate workflow, result-delivery, and follow-up obstacles.
• Establish relationships with lab directors, infectious disease physicians, pharmacists, and ordering clinicians.
• Conduct consultative, evidence-based discussions regarding Karius Spectrum and Focus BAL.
• Identify and cultivate internal champions to drive adoption.
• Accept ISR handoffs during the transition from meeting to usage.
• Collaborate with the MSL on clinical education in a supportive role.
• Transition sustained-active accounts achieving at least 12 tests per quarter to the overseeing CSM or carry them into an earned territory upon promotion.
• Align performance with regional objectives and uphold accountability for activity, pipeline, and activation commitments.
• Document customer interactions in Salesforce and provide field intelligence and market insights to ISR, CSM, and regional leadership.
• Report to the Regional Sales Director, with a dotted-line relationship to an overseeing CSM/Sr. CSM.
• A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in healthcare, life sciences, diagnostics, or a related field, along with completed sales training or certification from a recognized program; or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to manage a territory, maintain a CRM pipeline, and implement a field-based account strategy.
• Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
• Willingness to relocate is a requirement for the position; candidates must be open to moving into a CSM territory when a position becomes available.
• A valid driver's license.
• Excellent interpersonal and consultative communication skills with clinical and laboratory audiences.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and accountable, demonstrating field discipline and structured follow-up.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with ISR, CSM, and MSL partners.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth commercial setting.
• Sales training, certification, or relevant coursework is preferred.
• Willingness to travel extensively in the field, up to 75% of the time.
• Capability to drive, stand, and walk for extended periods; carry and transport promotional and educational materials; and work in hospitals, medical offices, and clinical laboratories.
• Visual acuity required for using screen-based tools and documentation.
• Comprehensive sales training on Karius products, their clinical applications, and impact on patient care.
