Associate Captive Executive

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Lead business development initiatives for assigned captives.

• Create new business and renewal proposals in collaboration with brokers and clients.

• Enhance client stewardship activities while fostering relationships with brokers and clients.

• Collaborate with the Captive Executive on strategic direction and critical decision-making.

• Co-manage board preparation tasks, including the creation of board books, financial reports, and strategic updates.

• Engage with clients, brokers, and service providers to promote business development and ensure effective program execution.

• Oversee daily captive operations, which encompass renewals, premium collection, and claims management.

• Draft proposals, renewals, actuarial reports, and financial statements.

• Monitor and project premiums, expenses, and budgetary performance.

• Assess risk management strategies and track program performance.

• Compile and analyze reports on risk exposures, loss ratios, and other essential metrics.

• Coordinate efforts with underwriting, claims, and compliance teams.

• Mentor junior team members to foster their development.

• Engage in continuous training to enhance expertise in captive insurance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.

• 3–5 years of experience in commercial insurance, particularly in underwriting, risk management, or captives.

• Strong foundation in Property & Casualty insurance, especially in Workers' Compensation, Commercial Automobile, and General Liability.

• Familiarity with group captive structures and their operations is highly desirable.

• Excellent organizational abilities and capability to manage various priorities effectively.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

• Keen attention to detail along with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process enhancement.

• CPCU or ARM designation is advantageous.

• Experience in supporting or collaborating with senior leadership and managing client relationships is preferred.

• Familiarity with financial or reporting software is a plus.
