This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Expand and oversee strategic biopharma collaborations within Guardant Health’s oncology portfolio.
• Develop strategies and spearhead initiatives among both internal and external stakeholders.
• Establish new accounts, nurture existing partnerships, enhance commercial opportunities, and ensure an exceptional partner experience.
• Forge partnerships utilizing Guardant’s testing services, data capabilities, clinical trial services, biomarker discovery solutions, and companion diagnostic prospects.
• Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities with biopharma prospects and clients.
• Formulate business cases, account plans, sales forecasts, and partnership strategies.
• Manage partner relationships and commercial prospects, which includes organizational mapping, meeting prep, proposals, pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and finalizing agreements.
• Educate external partners regarding Guardant’s oncology portfolio, data capabilities, clinical trial services, and companion diagnostic options.
• Lead cross-functional collaborations with teams in research, alliance management, bioinformatics, quality, scientific affairs, clinical operations, product, legal, finance, marketing, regulatory, R&D, and commercial functions.
• Conduct market and customer analysis to address oncology dynamics, competitive trends, customer needs, pricing, and partnership possibilities.
• Prepare executive-ready updates on pipeline health, revenue prospects, customer trends, competitive intelligence, and strategic trade-offs.
• Communicate partner requirements and priorities to BioPharma leadership and influence internal decision-making.
• Cultivate relationships with key biopharma decision-makers and industry stakeholders.
• Represent Guardant Health at conferences, customer meetings, scientific forums, and networking events.
• Adhere to business development processes, utilize tools, training resources, and best practices.
• A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field is typically required.
• Generally, 8–10+ years of relevant experience is required.
• At least 8 years of experience in business development, sales, consulting, diagnostics, biopharma, CROs, oncology, precision medicine, or related life sciences is essential.
• Proven experience in developing and closing fee-for-service, companion diagnostics, and commercial agreements, including contract negotiation, account expansion, and partner management.
• Strong knowledge of oncology, biomarker development, companion diagnostics, clinical trial services, sequencing technologies, precision medicine, and the dynamics of the clinical diagnostics market.
• Familiarity with regulatory, reimbursement, and market access considerations is necessary.
• Exceptional analytical, commercial, communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities are required.
• Experience in market analysis, forecasting, business case development, pipeline management, executive reporting, and translating complex scientific and business concepts for senior stakeholders is vital.
• Resourcefulness and the ability to work independently with significant autonomy, prioritize complex opportunities, influence cross-functional teams, resolve trade-offs, and drive decisions in ambiguous or fast-paced environments.
• A proactive self-starter who can manage multiple opportunities, balance emerging and ongoing relationships, meet deadlines, build scalable processes, and support the success of the broader team.
• Capability to critically assess and responsibly use AI-enabled tools in line with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
• A background in epigenomics or application development is advantageous.
• Background screening, including criminal history, is mandatory.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and use office equipment; potential exposure to laboratory noise, fumes, and biohazard materials.
• Options for remote, hybrid, or office-based work depending on business requirements and Guardant Health policy.
• Travel requirements may be up to 75%.
