Associate Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assume primary responsibility for managing an active first-party litigation docket from initiation to resolution.

• Independently manage a caseload through all stages of litigation.

• Defend against first-party bad faith lawsuits related to commercial property, business income, residential property, UM/UIM coverage, Stowers, excess judgment, and other coverage disputes.

• Formulate and implement litigation strategies in collaboration with client representatives from major national insurance carriers.

• Foster strong client relationships through effective communication, responsiveness, and delivering results.

• Prepare pleadings, motions, written discovery, and client reports.

• Conduct depositions, attend hearings, engage in settlement discussions, and oversee litigation until final resolution.

• Collaborate with managing partners and attorneys for assistance, support, and strategic direction.

• Engage with sophisticated clients on high-profile cases.

• Enhance trial skills while advancing an insurance litigation career with potential pathways to partnership and business development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active legal license to practice in Texas.

• 2-7 years of experience in first-party insurance litigation, preferably with property coverages.

• Exceptional legal research, writing, litigation strategy, and advocacy skills.

• Extensive experience in drafting pleadings, motions, written discovery, and client reports related to insurance disputes.

• Proficient in handling depositions, attending hearings, engaging in settlement discussions, and managing all aspects of litigation through to final resolution.

• Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Proactive attitude and confidence in leading case files.
