This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to clients regarding regulatory issues in financial services and matters related to financial crime.

• Assist with both internal and external investigations in sectors such as financial services, energy, pharmaceuticals, and media.

• Offer advice on mergers and acquisitions involving regulated entities, regulatory changes, and cross-border expansion efforts.

• Counsel on the authorization and structuring of regulated businesses, ensuring regulatory compliance, launching new products, and managing multi-jurisdictional projects.

• Help clients navigate licensing, compliance, risk management systems, product documentation, transactions, business assessments, and regulatory submissions.

• Support remediation initiatives and engage with regulatory bodies.

• Foster and sustain client relationships.

• Contribute to business development efforts, thought leadership, and enhance the firm's external presence.

• Collaborate closely with teams in Banking, Financial Markets Litigation, TMT, and Corporate sectors.

• Cultivate expertise in UK financial services regulation, with opportunities to work in wholesale financial services, payments, and consumer finance.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience as a lawyer.

• Knowledge of English law acquired at a leading city firm.

• Strong academic credentials.

• Capability to work with a degree of autonomy.

• Outstanding drafting and legal research skills.

• Familiarity with the UK regulatory environment and anticipated reforms.

• Comprehensive understanding of PSD3 & Open Banking, MIFID II, EMIR, MAR, DORA, and MiCAR.

• Knowledge of the UK regulatory perimeter, including RAO, EMRs, and PSRs.

• Experience or knowledge in providing regulatory transaction support for mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructuring.

• Experience or knowledge in assisting with FCA/PRA licensing procedures, including authorisations, variations of permission, notifications, and de-authorisation.

• Experience in advising on wholesale financial services regulation is advantageous.

• Strong financial, commercial, and business acumen.

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Effective teamwork skills.
