Associate Architect – Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Identify, procure, and implement essential engineering deliverables throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to refine and enhance functional requirements.

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance web applications utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Produce high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code.

• Enhance operational efficiency through automation and custom scripting tools.

• Conduct in-depth system analysis to troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical challenges.

• Implement validation and verification using test-driven development methodologies.

• Participate in peer code reviews to uphold quality, maintain standards, and promote knowledge sharing.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams and external partners to improve solution performance.

• Upgrade application stacks with state-of-the-art technologies and frameworks.

• Address high-severity security vulnerabilities.

• Provide on-call support, respond to production incidents, and perform root-cause analysis for critical platform services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of practical experience in creating high-performance, quality code in Java.

• Demonstrated expertise with the Spring Boot framework.

• Comprehensive knowledge of relational database management systems, including PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server.

• Strong experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.

• Solid understanding of OAuth2, SSO, and SMART-on-FHIR protocols.

• Full ownership of live environments, including telemetry, diagnostics, and root-cause analysis.

• A keen enthusiasm for test-driven development, along with practical implementation skills.

• High level of proficiency with Git version control systems.

• Hands-on experience with system telemetry and performance observation platforms like Grafana.

• Familiarity with automated testing suites such as Selenium.

• Experience using AI-enhanced development tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

• Must be available to work in EST.

• Preferred: experience in scalable distributed computing environments.

• Preferred: knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Istio.

• Preferred: experience with Ansible.

• Preferred: familiarity with Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

• Preferred: understanding of Linux and IP networking fundamentals.

• Preferred: experience with AWS and Azure.

• Preferred: knowledge of SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.

• Preferred: experience with cloud-native SaaS solutions.

• Preferred: familiarity with Service-Oriented Architectures.

• Preferred: experience with Python, Bash, or Groovy.

• Preferred: experience in on-call operational support.
