Associate, AML Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance detection models aimed at recognizing unusual transaction patterns and suspicious activities while reducing false positive rates.

• Extract, transform, and analyze extensive datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies related to financial crime.

• Improve risk-scoring models to assess the level of AML risk associated with clients.

• Design dashboards that offer insights to boost program effectiveness.

• Communicate AML trends and performance metrics with the AML leadership team.

• Work collaboratively with product, technology, and compliance teams.

• Support and enhance Wealthsimple’s AML program to combat financial crime.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient data skills with practical experience in a risk-related role such as AML or fraud.

• Proven experience using SQL for quantitative analysis and converting results into actionable recommendations.

• Familiarity with AI tools to enhance efficiency, along with the discernment to validate their outputs.

• Capability to craft and convey narratives to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Capacity to assimilate and evaluate information for balanced decision-making.

• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for the work.

• Preferred: background in AML or a compliance-related function.

• Preferred: experience with data visualization tools such as Preset / Superset, Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, etc.

• Preferred: knowledge of databases such as Snowflake, Redshift, MySQL.

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
