Assistant Vice President, Product Development Attorney, Cyber & Professional Liability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Lead the design, development, and enhancement of Cyber and Professional Liability insurance products and their associated forms.

• Review, draft, and create insurance coverage documents for Cyber and Professional Liability products.

• Provide legal oversight and specialized knowledge regarding policy form language and coverage assessments.

• Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, Compliance, Actuarial, and third-party business partners.

• Ensure products remain competitive, compliant, profitable, and aligned with corporate goals.

• Identify and implement best practices for consistent form development and regulatory compliance.

• Utilize resources, technology, and processes to innovate the form development process.

• Partner with Compliance to support form filings and offer forms-related guidance.

• Manage stakeholder relationships and monitor market trends, regulatory changes, legal developments, and loss trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

• Admitted to a state bar in good standing.

• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in insurance product development, underwriting, regulatory legal, or related fields.

• In-depth technical knowledge of Cyber products, including first-party, third-party, and crime coverages.

• Comprehensive technical knowledge of professional liability products.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, organizational, and time management capabilities.

• Ability to analyze, organize, and present information clearly.

• Capability to engage in active strategic discussions.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

• Proficient in managing projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision.

• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 15–20%.
