Assistant VDC Manager – Mechanical

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects utilizing Virtual Design and Construction methods and technologies.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, subcontractors, and various stakeholders.

• Incorporate VDC tools into design, planning, and construction workflows.

• Aid in managing project timelines, budgets, resources, and overall progress.

• Coordinate internal teams and subcontractors while supporting project setup and onboarding processes.

• Maintain precise, accessible, and current digital models and VDC data.

• Prepare and keep up-to-date VDC reports, meeting minutes, schedules, and change orders.

• Ensure that VDC processes and deliverables adhere to quality standards and project specifications.

• Support clash detection, constructability reviews, and optimization of schedules.

• Identify, report, and assist in resolving project issues or deviations.

• Aid or lead client meetings and presentations regarding VDC processes and outcomes.

• Stay informed about advancements in VDC technologies and construction methodologies, contributing to process enhancements.

• Support the VDC Manager with estimates, proposals, baseline coordination schedules, scopes of work, contracts, and negotiations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

• Knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, and delivery methods.

• Over 3 years of experience in the AEC industry.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• 1–2+ years of experience leading BIM coordination efforts.

• Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational and documentation skills.

• Strong understanding of VDC principles and technologies, including BIM, 3D modeling, and simulation.

• Ability to adapt to changing project demands and meet tight deadlines.

• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar tools.

• Preferred: experience in VDC or construction project management.

• Familiarity with construction project management platforms such as Microsoft Project and Procore.
