Assistant VDC Lead – Data Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Generate and manage consistent Virtual Design Construction (VDC) outputs and activities across various projects and divisions.

• Execute key responsibilities and duties as a Senior VDC Engineer.

• Aid in the recruitment, development, and oversight of VDC team members.

• Assist in pursuit reviews and create renderings, graphics, animations, and other visual materials.

• Supervise VDC tasks and resources that support projects and pursuits.

• Utilize site surveying, layout, reality capture, and existing conditions capture technologies.

• Establish background models, real-world and project coordinates, and cloud-based collaborative work environments.

• Assess existing conditions against design intent, identify discrepancies, and develop precise models.

• Maintain and communicate approved BIM design modifications for construction coordination.

• Create models for quantity take-offs and architectural backgrounds.

• Develop models for as-builts, facility operations, maintenance needs, and closeout deliverables.

• Provide input on VDC schedules and perform constructability reviews.

• Manage design conflicts and coordination clash resolutions with design and trade partners.

• Generate modeling and detailing outputs for at least one self-perform discipline.

• Produce export layouts, spooling, and fabrication files.

• Organize and facilitate coordination meetings while training project teams.

• Support coordination work orders, scopes of work, and contracts, including consultant agreements.

• Cultivate working relationships with project teams, craft, self-perform teams, clients, and design partners.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or certification in a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in design, engineering, or construction; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Comprehensive knowledge of industry-standard BIM software applications.

• Revit experience is expected.

• Strong ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.

• Thorough understanding of commercial construction methods and means.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capacity to take initiative and manage multiple tasks concurrently.

• Critical thinking skills with effective problem-solving capabilities.

• Relationship-oriented and collaborative.

• Willingness to travel to support company VDC requirements.
