This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +7 more states.
• Act as the primary Site Manager during the Site Manager's off rotation.
• Create scopes of work for assessment and approval.
• Develop and oversee project timelines; prepare estimates for self-performed tasks and assist with comprehensive project estimates.
• Serve as Site Manager for small-scale projects under $5 million when necessary.
• Manage various work divisions and the methods of construction.
• Obtain prices from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers; aid in the selection of bidders, negotiations, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Generate cost-to-complete reports, monthly billing, status updates, and progress-tracking documents.
• Review and keep current architectural, structural, shop, and other relevant drawings on-site.
• Plan construction methods, completion timelines, staffing needs, and implement procedures.
• Identify, assess, and select subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Estimate work, draft modifications and change orders, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate and oversee on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to project completion.
• Schedule subcontractors and secure necessary materials, equipment, tools, and supply sources.
• Establish and uphold safety and quality standards.
• Act as the on-site safety lead when not assigned elsewhere; halt work, enforce discipline among team members, and remove individuals or subcontractors if required.
• Make on-site safety and quality decisions and address issues while considering financial implications.
• Procure tools and materials for timely delivery.
• Direct supervisory staff and subcontractors, coordinating construction phases to avoid delays.
• Address workforce complaints and grievances.
• Review progress, materials, and cost reports, adjusting work schedules as needed.
• Provide expert guidance for assigned work divisions.
• Meet with customers and relay requested changes to the Site Manager and Project Manager.
• Coordinate with city officials, OSHA, and inspectors; ensure that inspections and documentation comply with project requirements.
• Communicate, implement, and uphold Gray's site safety program.
• Manage team members, including their training, work assignments, performance discipline, grievances, and problem resolution.
• Indirectly supervise subcontractors, consultants, and general laborers.
• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, along with a minimum of three years of construction experience, or at least five years of related construction experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in the light/heavy industrial sector is highly preferred, particularly in the food and beverage market.
• Outstanding leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
• Strong skills in people management.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, tablets, and smartphones.
• Familiarity with MS Project and other scheduling software is a plus.
• Strong work ethic; energetic, self-motivated, collaborative, and dedicated to professional growth.
• Ability to think independently and manage tasks without direct supervision.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across the United States and, in some instances, internationally.
• Must meet the physical demands of the role, including frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs.
