This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +7 more states.
• Serve as the primary Site Manager during the Site Manager's off rotation.
• Create scopes of work for evaluation and approval.
• Assist in the development and management of project schedules.
• Prepare estimates for self-performed tasks and support comprehensive project estimates.
• Act as Site Manager for smaller projects valued under $5 million when applicable.
• Oversee various divisions of work and all construction methods and processes.
• Solicit pricing from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers; assist with bidder selection, negotiate final costs, and draft subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Prepare cost-to-complete reports, monthly billing, status updates, and progress-tracking documentation.
• Review and maintain updated architectural, structural, shop, and other relevant drawings on-site.
• Plan construction procedures, staffing needs, and phase schedules based on specifications.
• Identify, assess, and select subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers for the General Conditions budget.
• Price work, draft changes and change orders, and promote customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate and oversee on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to project completion.
• Schedule subcontractors and secure necessary materials, equipment, tools, and supply sources.
• Establish and uphold safety and quality standards.
• Act as the on-site safety lead in the absence of a designated safety professional; halt work and take disciplinary action when necessary.
• Make on-site safety and quality-related decisions and resolve issues with financial considerations in mind.
• Acquire tools and materials for timely delivery according to work schedules.
• Guide supervisors and subcontractors in construction planning, specifications, and phase coordination.
• Address workforce complaints and grievances.
• Review progress, materials, and cost reports, making necessary schedule adjustments.
• Provide expert guidance for assigned construction divisions.
• Meet with customers and route requested changes to the Site Manager and Project Manager.
• Collaborate with city officials, OSHA, and inspectors to ensure all necessary inspections and documentation are completed.
• Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray's safety program.
• Manage subordinate team members, including training, work assignments, performance evaluations, complaint resolution, and problem-solving.
• Indirectly oversee subcontractors, consultants, and general laborers.
• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, along with a minimum of three years of construction experience; or at least five years of relevant construction experience with increasing responsibility in place of a degree.
• Experience in the light/heavy industrial sector is highly preferred, especially within the food and beverage industry.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
• Strong people management skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, tablets, and smartphones.
• Familiarity with MS Project and other scheduling software is a plus.
• Strong work ethic; energetic, self-motivated, team-oriented, collaborative, and dedicated to professional growth.
• Ability to think independently and manage tasks without direct supervision.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across the United States and, in some cases, internationally.
• Capability to meet the physical demands of the role, which includes frequently lifting/moving up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Must be capable of working in outdoor, wet/humid, mechanical, elevated, extreme temperature, electrical, explosive, and vibrating environments.
