This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist the branch network, Relationship Centre, Mobile Mortgage, and Broker Centre teams.
• Leverage knowledge and expertise to achieve work-unit goals and maintain a well-balanced portfolio of member loans.
• Evaluate, advise, and provide training on all lending products in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
• Carry out audit functions to ensure adherence to retail-credit policies and procedures.
• Ensure adequate levels and risk controls are established to oversee staff and related-party portfolios.
• Assess data from credit applications and credit reporting agencies.
• Make sound credit decisions that support the financial well-being of members.
• Successful attainment of a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma requiring 3-4 years of full-time study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Completion of CUIC 210 - Credit Union Consumer and Residential Mortgage Lending.
• 6-9 years of progressive experience in finance.
• 4-6 years of experience in mortgage and personal lending with established lending limits.
• In-depth understanding of insured lending programs (e.g., CMHC/Genworth).
• Thorough knowledge of credit union operations, principles, and values.
• Current awareness of market conditions.
• Advanced understanding of industry-standard underwriting practices.
• Capability to review business financials to assess overall credit risk.
• Strong grasp of the competitive landscape within the financial marketplace and local communities in the region.
• Demonstrated social networking abilities and capacity to engage with individuals both within and outside the organization.
• Proficient in analyzing and interpreting clients' needs to provide suitable options, solutions, and resolutions.
