
Assistant Director, Data β Supply Chain Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Create and spearhead a decision-grade supply chain analytics capability for Ionis.
β’ Oversee the Supply Chain Data Visibility Platform through its design, construction, validation, implementation, adoption, and continuous evolution.
β’ Direct the Commercial Supply Chain KPI framework, which includes definitions, formulas, business rules, thresholds, data ownership, source-to-report traceability, and governance.
β’ Convert supply chain and manufacturing priorities into an analytics roadmap, prioritizing use cases, business requirements, data products, dashboards, and self-service functionalities.
β’ Deliver data-driven decision support for S&OP, supply reviews, CMO business reviews, manufacturing strategies, and network decisions, including scenario and what-if analyses.
β’ Enhance visibility into customer service, inventory health, safety-stock performance, forecast performance, schedule adherence, supplier and CMO performance, capacity, material constraints, release status, and emerging supply risks.
β’ Manage business requirements, user training, change management, prioritization, and validation for supply chain data products on the Ioniverse/Databricks platform.
β’ Collaborate with IT and external delivery teams on data ingestion, modeling, KPI logic, testing, production support, and continuous improvement.
β’ Set data quality and reconciliation standards along with service expectations for essential data products.
β’ Define and uphold the supply chain systems strategy and roadmap across SAP S/4HANA, SAP IBP, Ioniverse/Databricks, partner systems, and future capabilities.
β’ Assess and sequence intricate system and process changes across products, sites, partners, and systems.
β’ Lead data governance in clinical and commercial manufacturing, including ownership, stewardship, master data change control, documentation, issue resolution, and cross-functional approvals.
β’ Foster alignment among business and technical stakeholders and influence decisions across various functions and organizational levels.
β’ Establish sustainable operating processes, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
β’ Manage business readiness, user training, change management, and measure adoption for new data products and capabilities.
β’ Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, business analytics, information systems, data science, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or a masterβs degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience; or equivalent education and experience.
β’ Advanced understanding of supply chain planning and operations, including demand and supply planning, inventory management, customer fulfillment, manufacturing, supplier/CMO performance, and S&OP.
β’ Proven experience in translating business processes and complex data into governed KPIs, analytical products, dashboards, and decision support tools.
β’ Experience in leading cross-functional analytics, data, systems, or digital transformation initiatives from requirements gathering and design through validation, deployment, and adoption.
β’ Strong grasp of data governance, master data, data quality, reconciliation, lineage, and ownership/stewardship practices.
β’ Ability to independently structure complex challenges, determine methods and approaches, exercise sound judgment, and deliver practical solutions with minimal guidance.
β’ Proven ability to influence diverse business and technical stakeholders while clearly explaining complex concepts, and leading through collaboration without direct authority.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, and structured problem-solving abilities.
β’ Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences manufacturing, or other regulated supply chain environments is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA, SAP IBP, Databricks, or similar enterprise planning, ERP, data platforms, and analytics technologies is preferred.
β’ Experience collaborating with external manufacturers, suppliers, logistics providers, and technical delivery partners.
