This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Engage in the selection and establishment of vendor partnerships.
• Assist in tracking inventory performance and assessing vendor profitability.
• Provide data analysis for pricing adjustments and support the online entry of price changes.
• Coordinate with Buyers, Associate Buyers, and brand partners to collect and verify order information.
• Manage updates to purchase sheets and address any discrepancies.
• Supervise the offshore Merchandise Assistants in creating and sending purchase orders.
• Ensure the timely delivery and accuracy of purchase order information.
• Facilitate communication between Merchandise Assistants and brand partners.
• Offer allocation guidance to the Planning Allocation team.
• Assist in managing allocations for high-touch categories, such as Designer.
• Communicate changes in receipt flow to the offshore team.
• Ensure that purchase orders accurately represent shipping windows, order quantities, and on-order status.
• Prepare Buyers for Market by providing insights on historical performance, trends, and customer preferences.
• Coordinate market appointments and occasionally attend the NY market.
• Support the Buyer during style-out sessions by organizing logistics and preparing assortment presentation insights.
• Initiate strategic product assortments aimed at driving sales and brand growth.
• Serve as the primary contact for execution-related inquiries and feedback from cross-functional partners.
• Review business performance with Assistant Planners and relay bottoms-up style insights to Buyers.
• Recommend in-season actions and assist in preparing for monthly Open-to-Buy (OTB) meetings.
• Manage the cadence of markdowns and supervise the offshore execution of price changes and RTVs.
• Collaborate with the offshore reporting team to produce custom Buying reports and maintain structural changes to views.
• Ensure that reporting deadlines are met by offshore teams.
• Effectively handles ambiguity, is a self-starter, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrates strong accountability and the ability to multitask and prioritize autonomously.
• Quickly generates diverse problem-solving approaches, including innovative ideas.
• Exhibits strong interpersonal skills, being both direct and diplomatic while earning trust swiftly.
• Holds a proven track record of achieving positive results through objectives and metrics within a large, complex organization.
• Open to new perspectives and willing to explore different working methods in an evolving business landscape.
• Possesses robust knowledge of retail math concepts, including markup, margin planning, open-to-buy, and inventory productivity metrics (WOS, T/O, GMROI).
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Exhibits strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in computer applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Sheets/Docs/Slides.
• Knowledgeable in RFS, AMS, PCW, and NuOrder.
• 1–2 years of experience as an Assistant Buyer, preferably within a major department store.
