Assistant Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete supplier invoice processing and purchase order matching.

• Prepare weekly payment runs and reconcile supplier accounts.

• Address and resolve supplier inquiries.

• Handle customer invoicing and allocation of receipts.

• Manage debtor collections, reporting on aged receivables, and escalate overdue accounts.

• Process payroll across various entities.

• Administer leave, superannuation, payroll reconciliations, STP preparation, and payroll reporting.

• Conduct daily reconciliations of bank and credit card transactions.

• Allocate cash receipts and categorize expenses.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in reconciliations.

• Prepare month-end schedules and supporting documentation.

• Complete reconciliations for bank, credit card, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, GST, intercompany transactions, inventory, and balance sheets.

• Update the fixed asset register accordingly.

• Prepare accruals and prepayments as needed.

• Complete and submit month-end checklists for review by the Financial Controller.

• Prepare documentation necessary for BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, WorkCover, and FBT submissions.

• Maintain the finance inbox, registers, and relevant accounting documentation.

• Support process enhancements and documentation of finance procedures.

• Ensure that financial records are accurate, comprehensive, and current.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in a senior accounting, finance, or bookkeeping position.

• Proficient in Xero and advanced Excel skills.

• Experience in managing accounting for multiple entities and foreign currency transactions.

• Strong knowledge of Australian GST and payroll legislation.

• Proven track record in reconciliation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven.

• Experience within manufacturing settings.

• Familiarity with inventory accounting and job costing.

• Experience in multi-entity payroll processing.

• Background in supporting CFOs, Finance Managers, or Financial Controllers in dynamic business environments.
