Asset Manager – Battery Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the daily operations of a portfolio of utility-scale, stand-alone battery energy storage systems (BESS).

• Assess asset performance and evaluate plant metrics against KPIs to detect anomalies and enhance performance.

• Deliver qualitative analysis, reporting, and recommendations for asset management and executive-level visibility.

• Collaborate with Accounting and Analytic Services to formulate operational budgets.

• Oversee O&M and third-party agreements, ensuring compliance from service providers and fostering long-term relationships.

• Coordinate and supervise the planned maintenance schedules and performance of third-party contractors.

• Manage outages and unplanned maintenance, including investigation, analysis, and resolution of system challenges.

• Conduct and evaluate risk assessments, initiating preventive and corrective measures.

• Assist in pre-construction engineering, EPC, and development tasks by reviewing plant designs and operational contract terms.

• Facilitate the internal transition of BESS projects from construction to operational phases.

• Supervise compliance contractors regarding NERC/ISO procedures, reporting requirements, and training for operations staff.

• Ensure strict adherence to project operating agreements.

• Work collaboratively with Front Office, Analytics Services, Finance and Accounting, Legal, and Engineering Procurement & Construction teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of asset management experience in the renewable energy sector.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, business, or a related discipline.

• Experience in Power, Energy, Renewables, or BESS, with knowledge of industry-specific terminology.

• Familiarity with BESS technology and/or SCADA systems is advantageous.

• Working knowledge of ERCOT and other ISO/RTO market frameworks.

• Experience overseeing merchant energy assets and understanding regulatory, compliance, and market participation requirements.

• Capability to read and interpret PPAs, LGIAs, Financing Agreements, and other project-related contracts.

• Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver timely, high-quality outcomes.

• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity with a desire for personal and professional growth.

• Strong dependability and accountability, with a solid history of meeting deadlines and fulfilling commitments.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information to varied audiences.

• Excellent project management skills with experience leading and executing projects under tight deadlines.

• Adaptability to changing priorities, managing multiple tasks, and maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.

• Willingness to travel to various locations within the United States approximately 20% of the time.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
